The majestic Calagio Quarry, tucked away in the charming village of Colonnata, was named after it’s surrounding area.

Back in the early 1900s, the Successori Adolfo Corsi company began the journey of extracting the beautiful white and gray Calagio marble, skillfully shaping the mountain.

Adolfo Corsi, our forward-thinking founder, shook things up by introducing a groundbreaking helical wire, making waves as a trailblazer in the global marble industry.

Even today, we carry the torch, blending the wisdom of past generations with cutting-edge extraction methods that not only maximize output but do so while respecting the environment and the precious material.

Our history is a dance with progress, and our unwavering commitment points us toward a future where the elegance of tradition seamlessly meets ustainable innovation.

MATERIALS AND CHARACTERISTICS

Fig. A – BARDIGLIO MAGNIFICO UNIFORM COLOR

Fig. B – BARDIGLIO MAGNIFICO VEIN 45°

Grey marble, fine grain with thick light grey veins. Grey colour depends on microcrystalline pyrite. Blocks usually have dimensions adaptable to diamond gangsaws (3,20×1,50×1,40 m), they have, when allowed from the quarry state, a side parallel to the vein direction to make possible cross cuts (Fig. A) or vein cuts (Fig. B).

Slabs usually have 2 or 3 cm thickness but for particular jobs they can have a minimum thickness of 1 cm. The best result for this material when cut in slabs is polished or honed. The material is specified for interior and exterior projects and often use in Architecture, Fine Art and Design.
